What supports this
What does that evidence actually show?
Does a page show a product approval, a licence, an agency letter, or a report of a problem? Each answers a different question.
Medicine approval and a business record
What approval can show
FDA is the Food and Drug Administration. Ask whether the record matches the product, form and use in the proposed plan.
As of September 26, 2026, FDA approval concerned specific medicine products and their named uses.
What registration can show
As of September 26, 2026, a business registration or drug listing did not establish FDA approval or permission to market that product.
Read the kind of record before deciding what it proves.
The word “listed” leaves a question open: listed where, for what purpose, and with what status?
What about a drug code?
As of September 26, 2026, the FDA said an NDC, or National Drug Code, did not mean a product had approval.
An NDC is a number used to find a drug on a list. The number does not mean the drug is approved.
What does an agency letter establish?
The FDA explanation checked on September 17, 2026 said a warning letter may not be the end of the story. Later talks or letters between the agency and the business could change whether its concerns were still open.
A warning letter states what the agency says was wrong at that time. It is not a final decision.
A report and proof of cause
What a report records
FDA information checked on September 17, 2026 allowed patients to report suspected medicine problems through MedWatch.
MedWatch is the FDA’s reporting program for problems with medical products.
What it cannot establish alone
FDA guidance checked on September 17, 2026 said a submitted problem report did not prove the medicine caused it or show how often it happened.
A report is a reason to investigate. It is not a count of everyone who used a medicine without a problem.
Questions that make evidence useful
- Was this evidence about the same finished product?
- Did it study the condition being discussed?
- Was the result about people, or about a different setting?
- What did the evidence leave unanswered?
- What date was the product status last checked?
